For the 33rd Oakland Chinatown StreetFest, I was one of four artists commissioned to interpret “Why I ♡ Oakland Chinatown” in our own styles. Sponsored by Cricket Wireless, Wa Sung, and OCCC, the project turned into a heartfelt community moment. I painted my signature monoline lettering alongside a green heart (a nod to Cricket’s branding), and throughout the day, people of all ages stopped by to write memories, stories, and love notes to the neighborhood. What started as a simple prompt became a living, growing archive of joy—and I feel lucky to have helped make that happen.
The portable walls measured 8 ft x 8 ft — a total of 64 sq ft.
